Let’s Talk About Worries

Talking is Teaching: WorriesTalking is Teaching partnered with the Child Mind Institute to develop this bundle in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month. Everyone faces worries – including young children. It is important to recognize when children are worried, and also important to help them learn to cope with worries. None of us wants to see a child unhappy, but the best way to help kids overcome anxiety isn’t to try to remove stressors that trigger it. It’s to help them learn to tolerate their anxiety and function as well as they can, even when they’re anxious. And as a byproduct of that, the anxiety will decrease over time.

Talking is Teaching: Worries Resources

This bundle is filled with ways to help parents and caregivers talk, read, and sing with their children about worries, including book and video recommendations for managing worry/anxiety, scavenger hunt activities designed to help your children identify their feelings and a helpful tips/activities calendar.
